A porcelain filling which is very strong, especially for molars and premolars.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Inlays and Onlays are indirect fillings made of porcelain that fit into and onto the tooth. These inlays\/onlays are used to make the tooth stronger by holding it together while retaining a natural and cosmetically pleasing colour. The tooth will be prepared accordingly and decay or existing defective filling will be removed. A scan of the tooth is then done and the inlay is manufactured by a machine.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is done by CAD\/CAM technology (Computer-Aided Design\/Manufacturing technology). The inlay is made from a block of porcelain. The inlay is made and fitted shortly after the tooth has been prepared. There will not be any pain after the procedure as only the enamel and some dentine of the teeth are removed. Occasionally sensitivity can be experienced.
